The Plucky Squire launches this September, and will be one PS Plus Extra for no additional cost – WGB

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer All Possible Futures have finally drawn their swords and announced a release date for their highly promising 2D/3D game The Plucky Squire.

The announcement trailer reveals, via the main character Jot moving some dates around in a storybook, that the game will launch on September 17 for Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, PC and Switch.

If you subscribe to PS Plus Extra though, you’ll get the game for free as part of the service! PlayStation doesn’t usually dabble in offering day 1 releases on any of its subscription services. It has previously offered Stray, for example, which was a charming game about being a cat in a post-apocolyptic world run by robots.

First revealed back in 2022, The Plucky Squire is an action-adventure game where you journey through a storybook before leaping out into the real world.

“Jump between 2D and 3D worlds in this charming action-adventure – solving puzzles, boxing badgers, flying with a jetpack, and enjoying many more delightful and surprising mini-challenges as you become the hero of a living storybook,” says the trailer description.

I can’t wait to play this one. It looks gorgeous.
