Considering Astro’s Playroom served as a brilliant (and free!) demonstration of the DualSense Controller’s unique features, it feels rather fitting that PlayStation is releasing this controller alongside Astro Bot, the upcoming PS5 platformer that arrives on the same day (September 6). The Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller went up for preorder on August 9. Unsurprisingly, it’s proven to be extremely popular–but we have seen some brief restock windows this week.
Antonline has an Astro Bot bundle featuring the controller and a physical copy of the game for a $7 discount overall, but this has already sold out once before, so we don’t expect it to stick around for long.
Preorders for the Astro Bot PS5 controller on its own are sold out at all major retailers at the moment (August 27): Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target, GameStop, Antonline, and PlayStation Direct.

Preorders for the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller for PS5 (and PC) just went live at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. Special-edition PS5 controllers have almost always sold out quickly in the past, so you’ll probably want to preorder ASAP. We’ll update this article with more preorder listings as they go live.
Along with a white and blue design, it features several accents and a pair of beady eyes staring out at you from the touchpad.
While it may boast a striking new design, this is your standard DualSense. That means you won’t get back buttons or customizable components as you would on the DualSense Edge, but it has all of the hallmarks that make the DualSense such a cool controller: haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone.
Preorders for the controller don’t open until August 9, but preorders for the Astro Bot game are now available. You’ll get some cool swag for reserving a copy ahead of time, including a bunch of in-game goodies and an adorable physical poster for your game room.
The Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense follows hot on the heels of the Concord Limited Edition DualSense. Based on the shooter of the same name, it gets you a black gamepad accented with red and blue stripes throughout the entire front faceplate. Like the upcoming Astro Bot controller, this one will only be available for a limited time.
